MSgt Javier F. Martin-Vinas
Aerospace Science Instructor
Master Sergeant (ret) Martin-Vinas is an Air Force Junior ROTC Instructor assigned to McNary High School in Keizer, Oregon. His last active duty assignment was Director of Operations, Professional Military Education (PME), 15th Wing, Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Hawaii. Before arriving here, he taught AFJROTC at Aiea High School in Oahu Hawaii for 4years where he helped lead and mentor hundreds of Cadets annually. MSgt Martin-Vinas grew up in Bayamon, Puerto Rico where he enlisted in the Air Force in March of 1993 as an Aircraft Armament System Specialist (462/2W171). He is a graduate of the Professional Military Education Instructor Course (Airman Leadership School and Noncommissioned Officer School), and Technical Education Instructor Course.
MSgt Martin-Vinas retired in 2014 after serving 21 years in the Aircraft Weapons Maintenance and education & training arenas. He is currently working in his Education Doctoral Degree with Argosy University. He has a Master of Arts Degree in Education, Leadership and Administration, and a Bachelor’s of Science in Occupational Education. He also has a Florida, Hawaii, and Oregon teaching license, grades 9-12. MSgt is married to his wife, Marivelisse Ortega and they have three daughters, two that attend George Fox University in Newberg Oregon, and one that’s married to an Air Force Airman stationed in Alaska. He enjoys working out, the arts, reading and bladesmithing.
